The Passing Away of A Legend R.I.P. Guru

R.I.P. Guru of Gangstarr You Will Be Missed

We were praying Guru would fully recover and get well, but unfortunately Guru passed away earlier this year.   Apparently Guru had been battling Cancer for the past year and it eventually became too much stress on his body. We mourn the loss of this Great Hip Hop Music Legend and send his family and friends our condolences.

We had met both Guru and his business partner Solar back in 2007 and were quite impressed by the duo's demeanor and poise. We of course knew who Guru was and were enthralled to meet a Hip Hop Legend that had inspired us during youth. We had met Guru a while back, but this was our first time being introduced to Solar in person. At that time we had no idea that Guru and Premier had severed all ties. The amount of separation would soon be revealed in a letter released after his death.

Guru's longtime collaborator and partner Solar mourns his loss and explained that Guru had written a letter to his fans that was to be released upon his death.

"The world has lost one of the best MCs and hip-hop icons of all-time — my loyal best friend, partner, and brother, Guru," Solar said. "Guru has been battling cancer for well over a year and has lost his battle! This is a matter that Guru wanted private until he could beat it, but tragically, this did not happen. The cancer took him. Now the world has lost a great man and a true genius."

Born on July 17, 1966, near Boston, Guru rose to fame in the late 1980s as part of the duo Gang Starr with partner DJ Premier. The pair helped define the New York underground rap sound in the 1990s. Their unique sound combined Premier's production palette, which leaned heavily on sampled jazz records and scratched vocals on the choruses, with Guru's uncompromising rhymes. Although the pair would work separately as often as they did together - Guru's Jazzmatazzseries of albums and Premier's work with Nas, Jay-Z, and underground act Group Home - Gang Starr continued to release critically acclaimed material throughout the late '90s and early 2000s.

Their 1998 album Moment of Truth was among their most critically lauded collections and Gang Starr's biggest-selling project to date. Gang Starr's last group project, The Ownerz, was released in 2003.
Guru found solo fame in 1993 when he released the first volume of his Jazzmatazz series, an all-star project that featured a number of collaborations with jazz icons such as Branford Marsalis, Donald Byrd, Roy Ayers and Ronny Jordan, as well as vocals from French producer Solaar and N'Dea Davenport of the Brand New Heavies. The album's mixture of jazz and rap was considered pioneering at the time, and the record spawned the hit "Trust Me." Guru would go on to make four volumes in the series.

According to Solar, Guru wrote his farewell letter while in the hospital.

"I, Guru, am writing this letter to my fans, friends and loved ones around the world," it begins. "I have had a long battle with cancer and have succumbed to the disease. I have suffered with this illness for over a year. I have exhausted all medical options."

"I have a non-profit organization called Each One Counts dedicated to carrying on my charitable work on behalf of abused and disadvantaged children from around the world and also to educate and research a cure for this terrible disease that took my life. I write this with tears in my eyes, not of sorrow but of joy for what a wonderful life I have enjoyed and how many great people I have had the pleasure of meeting."

"My loyal best friend, partner and brother, Solar, has been at my side through it all and has been made my health proxy by myself on all matters relating to myself. He has been with me by my side on my many hospital stays, operations, doctors visits and stayed with me at my home and cared for me when I could not care for myself. Solar and his family is my family and I love them dearly and I expect my family, friends, and fans to respect that, regardless to anybody's feelings on the matter. It is my wish that counts. This being said I am survived by the love of my life, my son KC, who I trust will be looked after by Solar and his family as their own. Any awards or tributes should be accepted, organized approved by Solar on behalf [of] myself and my son until he is of age to accept on his own."

Guru very pointedly distanced himself from Premier in the letter, saying he didn't want his former musical collaborator to be able to participate in any tributes or events surrounding his death.

"I do not wish my ex-DJ [DJ Premier] to have anything to do with my name likeness, events, tributes etc. connected in anyway to my situation including any use of my name or circumstance for any reason and I have instructed my lawyers to enforce this," wrote Guru. "I had nothing to do with him in life for over 7 years and want nothing to do with him in death. Solar has my life story and is well informed on my family situation, as well as the real reason for separating from my ex-DJ."

"As the sole founder of Gang Starr, I am very proud of what Gang Starr has meant to the music world and fans. I equally am proud of my Jazzmatazz series and as the father of Hip-Hop/Jazz. I am most proud of my leadership and pioneering efforts on Jazzmatazz 4 for reinvigorating the Hip-Hop/Jazz genre in a time when music quality has reached an all time low. Solar and I have toured in places that I have never been before with Gang Starr or Jazzmatazz and we gained a reputation for being the best on the planet at Hip-Hop/Jazz, as well as the biggest and most influential Hip-Hop/Jazz record with Jazzmatazz 4 of the decade to now."

"The work I have done with Solar represents a legacy far beyond its time. And we as a team were not afraid to push the envelope. To me this is what true artists do! As men of honor we stood tall in the face of small-mindedness, greed, and ignorance. As we fought for music and integrity at the cost of not earning millions and for this I will always be happy and proud, and would like to thank the million fans who have seen us perform over the years from all over the world. The work I have done with Solar represents a legacy far beyond its time and is my most creative and experimental to date. I hope that our music will receive the attention it deserves as it is some of the best work I have done and represents some of the best years of my life."

Guru's family — from whom he was reportedly estranged, along with other past associates — had not commented on his death, and last month his nephew Justin Nicholas-Elam Ruff posted several emotional videos on YouTube saying that Solar was preventing them from seeing the MC during his illness.

Prayers for Guru of Gangstarr After He Suffers a Heart Attack

On February 28th 2010, Guru suffered a severe heart attack and is currently in a coma.
We were busy posting on Twitter when we heard that legendary lyricist and rapper Guru of Gangstarr suffered a heart attack and went into a coma. Guru is scheduled to go under the knife for heart surgery tomorrow and we wanted everyone in the Hip Hop community to extend a huge prayer for his well being. Thinking back on our favorite Hip Hop songs of all time Guru and Gangstarr hold three or four spots in our favorite Hip Hop songs of all time list with "Mass Appeal" "DWYK" and a few other songs.

For those that don't know him Guru (born Keith Elam, July 17, 1966 in the Boston neighborhood of Roxbury) is a Hip Hop Legend who worked together along with DJ Premier as the members of Gang Starr,
(look up Gangstarr or Guru on www.youtube.com and learn a little more about Hip Hop History and listen to some classic tracks). Guru was One of Hip Hop's second generation / golden era stars in the 80's and 90s'. Guru recorded countless hits as part of the Duo Gangstarr consisting of Guru & Now legendary producer DJ Premier. Guru also recorded a few major solo album projects labelled Jazzmatazz (a further fusion of jazz and Hip Hop that Gangstarr was already famous for) Guru and Gangstarr have had a major influence on many of Hip Hop's greats including people like Jay-Z, Biggie, Tupac, Jeru The Damaga and some of todays latest artists.

In 2007 Guru was ranked at 45 for the Top 50 MCs of our time: 1987-2007

Guru later on took on a new producer "Solar" as a partner for many of his later projects. Guru has continued recording music through the new century and had recently posted on Twitter "Are my fans ready for a new Gang Starr Album" Many fans wondered if this also meant DJ Premier might produce a few of the tracks or if most of the tracks would be produced by Guru's new producer Solar.

Tonight before going to bed pray for his health and that he makes a strong speedy and resiliant recovery. - Get well Guru! May real Hip Hop Live forever.

Kanye West Doesn't Need Rumors to Destroy his Reputation He Destroys it Himself

Hip-hop star Kanye West has blasted out at rumour mongers who are tarnishing his image on the web. The ace Hitmaker is furious and has launched a scathing attack on fans who continuously spread fake rumours about him on the internet. Kanye has urged web users to stop trying to “destroy” him.

The Stronger hitmaker was recently amidst a bizarre internet gossip which said that he had spoken about possibly making a porn movie. The rumour was carried forward by several websites claiming the verity of the news.

The rumour turned out to be fake, and West is furious and mad. He has taken up writing to clear all the muck that is quite damaging for the singer’s image.

He writes on his official blog, “Why won’t you let me be great! I read some s**t claiming I said I’m down to do porn and some bisexual porn! I just gave the performance of my lifetime for our new president … Then I flew to Paris and they debuted my new shoes that I designed with Louie (sic) Vuitton which was a dream come true. Please I beg you, give me a break!”

Kanye also reveals how these blatant lies affect him and his performance. West is especially angry, because he is convinced that the ugly rumours have overshadowed his recent performance at President Barack Obama’s inauguration. He adds, “That’s in poor taste! That undermines what my contribution to that event (Obama’s inauguration) was and slaps everybody who felt uplifted by that performance in the face!”

Internet Real or Fake?

We found this great article about The internet and all the Fake MCs and DJs that try and manipulate it to look better than they are.

The article was written by Big Chew at www.RapMullet.com

Find the actual article at:

http://www.rapmullet.com/2009/04/march-2009-murder-of-the-monthpart-1.html

It was written by: Big Chew on April 5, 2009 9:12 PM for www.Rapmullet.com
Which we are avid fans of here at the Great Hip Hop Blogspot

Article By Big Chew follows:

Really Real?

Where to begin.

Well this is gonna start with the internet and end with the internet...literally since you're reading it on the internet.
I love the Internet. Where else can you get all the free music you've ever wanted? As a mixtape fan, where can you find all those lost classic tapes that made you a mixtape fan? Shit used to be scarce a few years ago, but with cats like Tapemasta and DJ Mars and a nice number of bloggers, shit is like Christmas every week. My Ipod touch stays stocked.

You also have on demand videos and new tracks. I mean who doesn't hit up Onsmash daily to see new videos and check what Legend has up for new music. Shit is like getting half a new Clue tape every other day. You know you're gonna find a couple tracks you fuck with and it's NEW.

You can also connect with like-minded people from all over the world. You can send beats to MCs you never would have had contact with. You can chat with DJs you never would have access to in1995. I love the Internet for that...seriously.

My beef with the Internet is, it's not REAL. Half these bitches aren't doing shit that they're talking about. In real life if you hit the block and say you got a new mixtape and it's running the streets people will know if you REALLY are. Online you produce a cover and a link to DatPiff and people take that as you are REALLY doing something when in fact you REALLY aren't. You have people touting the number of downloads for a project when in fact you don't even have to download to make the numbers go up, just click the link. To me that's like having a physical CD for sale, having 2000 people pick up the CD to look at it, but not buy it and then you claim you're changing the game. What the fuck is that? Then you got dudes claiming to be signing deals, running the clubs and if you go to their state, no one has heard of these fucking lames.

I know people have been doing "fake it till you make it" forever. The Internet just made it easier. There are no checks and balances with the Internet. Be it downloads, web hits, voting for awards or people just running their mouth on twitter or a message board telling tall tales of what there doing, while REALLY looking for spare change to cop a burrito. You never REALLY know and that right there has allowed mixtapes and hip hop to be infiltrated by lames that, if it was 10 years earlier, wouldn't even be able to make it to the gates of "the game" let alone get through the gates and be mentioned amongst those who have rightfully earned their spot!

One could argue that not having those gates is a good thing for music etc. In a few respects maybe, but those gates were part of keeping the music at a certain level of quality. With no gates you get the fiasco that happened with the last Mixtape Awards. With no gates, Datpiff is able to claim that they've helped make stars. With no gates, cornballs that wouldn't be hot with a 3rd degree case of the "bullhead clap" are winning awards. With no gates, Souljah Boy continues to make hits, while Jadakiss can't get on the "selling a hot single bus". The Internet has given every wanna-be a shot. Let that wanna-be catch a retard mistake on the Internet and next thing you know they have some credibility and cats are checking for them or biggin' up a website. It's gotten out of hand and it's gonna get worse with no checks and balances. Please, the next time you claim to be getting' checks, make sure your bullshit balances!

Perception is reality on the Internet and I'm here to tell you that THAT reality is false!

Here Was My Personal Comment Response to the article:

Your picture analogy is hilariously accurate. I love it. With myspace it's always... check out my music this and peep out our new video that... If you were real I'd have already checked out your music or video cause someone else, or really a ton of people, sites and media would have already force fed me your hot music.

If you are real you would at the very least be on Digiwaxx.com or other digital distribution lists to get yourself in front of Real Nightclub and mixtape DJs. Those are the people that need your music. Most of them don't have all the time in the world to listen to every song profile on myspace. Serious people will go through a serious digital distribution source or record pool to get their music to all the DJs at once. If the music is good DJs will add it to their sets and try it out, break it and push it to their crowds, if it's wack you'll at least get feedback on why it's wack. Maybe you can improve and become better than you are. Fake people get weeded out and the real stays real and possibly blows up.

"Fake it til you make it" is sometimes a worth while path to make it, but it only works if you actually have the skills to make it. If you have the skills and just lack the opportunity, sometimes the right fake attention gets you the attention you need to make headway. If however you really are fake in all aspects, well lets just say everyone will know and after that "one break"... you break!

It's better to get your skills up and continuously find smaller publications and websites that might do an article or review while at the same time submitting to all the larger media as well. The smaller ones may give you a few small stories you can build your portfolio with. Then you are not faking your way up but rather making your way up the ladder. Occasionally you get that one jet pack article, TV show appearance or interview that boosts you straight to the top, but only if you do things right and have the right skills and appeal.

Rihanna and Chris Brown Get Back Together After Attack

Rihanna and Chris Brown are back together. The pair have reunited almost three weeks after Brown, 19, allegedly battered the "Disturbia" singer on Feb. 8.

"They're together again. They care for each other," The on-again couple are currently spending time together at one of Sean "Diddy" Combs's homes, on Miami Beach's Star Island. Adds the source: "While Chris is reflective and saddened about what happened, he is really happy to be with the woman he loves."In its latest issue, PEOPLE reports that Brown called Rihanna on her 21st birthday one week ago. "He called to wish her happy birthday," a source told the magazine. "They've reached out to each other. It's been mutual." Brown was booked by LAPD for making criminal threats but the case has not yet been presented to the District Attorney, who will ultimately determine which charges, if any, will be prosecuted.

In our opinion love sometimes hurts, but it shouldn't hurt physically. If Love turns physically violent, you should consider getting out of the relationship. No matter how much your heart hurts when you do so. A lot of these things tend to escalate as time goes on and you don't want to keep ending up in the hospital or in the morgue.

Las Vegas Nightclub and Midwest Nightclub Tour

In January 2009 DJ Emir Did a quick mini midwest tour Droping his genius mixes, DJ abilities and remixes on fans in Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Las Vegas.

Before heading back to Denver DJ Emir's last stop was Las Vegas where his style of mixing really took off. Completely frenzying the crowd at all three spots he mixed at, Emir really put it down hard on the turntables the entire week. He must have really been feeling it when he was in Vegas this time cause he was killing it with the live remixes, mixes, juggles and scratches.

On Saturday Emir must have been digging deep into his repertoir because he even surprised us with some of the insane mixes he put together. I think a few people were surprised to find out DJ Emir resides in Denver, They just couldn't believe Denver had such a talented DJ hidden in what they thought was a One horse town. DJ Emir's originally from Puerto Rico and New York, but that will be our little secret ;).

Our blog team was given a huge amount of mixtape CDs from Emir as promotional giveaways just a month earlier. We hadn't had a chance to really hand out a ton of them so when Emir invited us to meet up with him in Las vegas for the last part of his Midwest tour we figured we'd bring some along. Knowing the team would bump into several hundred people throughout this trip we brought with us over 1000 of DJ Emir's hot mixtape cds which we gave away to Emir's new fans and a few familiar faces as well.

Talks are in the works to haveDJ Emir come back to Las Vegas a little more often. We also dropped Ironman mixtape CDs at many of the other casinos he wasn't performing at in an attempt to help One of our favorite DJs pick up a few Vegas residencies or special events. (We'll keep you all posted)

On his days off we met up with Emir and we all visited other nightclubs and other casinos to check out what we expected to be awsome nights of great dJs and entertainment. But we were sadly dissapointed by many of the spots as their deejays simply didn't match up in intensity, style or ability to many of the other DJs we have become accustomed to hearing.

Las Vegas, known for its huge casinos and lavish nightclubs had fallen off a little on some of their nightclub DJ standards. Lazy deejays were croping up at the most unlikely nightclubs. We spoke to some associates from LA about how our friend was dissapointed about the Deejays in LA when he first moved out there. They mentioned they too were dissapointed when they first moved out to LA as well, we mentioned our surprise dissapointment over the Las Vegas DJ Scene. That's when they suggested it's partly because Vegas is importing the same DJs from the Los Angeles scene. Apparently Vegas has fallen victim to flying out a few of the lazy Deejays of Los Angeles. Which is a shame since there are many other great deejays out there that are far better deserving of a residency in one of the entertainment capitals of the world.

We did however find A few other exceptional DJs during the nights, One other hot DJ out in Vegas was DJ Serafin of the Crooklynclan/CrackforDJs crews. DJ Serafin's mix style energy and enthusiasm was much like DJ Emir's style of mixing. DJ Serafin really knew how to rock the crowd and reaffirmed our faith in Las Vegas nightclubs and Las Vegas DJs. After hearing him live we can now add DJ Serafin to our growing list of favorite nightclub DJs which now include: DJ Serrafin, DJ AM, DJ Craze, DJ Emir, DJ Z-Trip, DJ Vajra, and DJ Sniper.

Picture of DJ Serafin
We were unable to catch DJ AM this time arround but he always puts on a great show as does DJ-Ztrip, we were fortunate enough to catch both of those guys at Beta nightclub in Denver when they came through this past year. Z-trip signed DJ Emir's jacket, so I guess you could say Z-Trip is also One of our our favorite DJ's favorite DJ :) LOL

DJ Emir Made some decent cash while in Vegas but being a gambleing city well lets just say he reinvested in Vegas nightlife. Lesson learned, we hope, next time just keep him busy deejaying and watching Vegas shows, no gambling. PS- when in Vegas always take payment in a check... LOL

Of course Vegas is also well known for gambling as well as for it's great live performance shows We decided to catch the Circue Du Soleil show Zumanity which was playing at the New York, New York Hotel It was a funny sexy show with plenty of the unique and insane talents and performers you come to expect from a Circue Du Soliel Show.

This particular show wasn't the one to take the kiddies to with its very erotic displays and very sexual nature. We rather enjoyed the show and the abilities of the performers. We were also very impressed with the strength and balance of all the performers especially the strength of the smallest of them and the lady that did the flying ribbon act both their shoulders had to be extremely powerful to withstand the forces they were exerting on themselves with the huge drops and sudden stops they were making with the cloth.

Hotel New York New York. Each of the hotel towers is actually fashioned after New York Citys most famous downtown buildings. And there is a huge rollercoaster that you can ride all day. When I say huge it's one of the bigger ones we've seen in our travels.

We didn't have the time to ride it this time (at least we couldn't convince the scardy cats to get on board anyway) We'll be sure they at least take pictures of us on the ride next time if they don't want to come along. P***s LOL.

DJ Emir is always small in stature but bigger than life when he's on the turntables! LOL Here Emir is Shown with the much taller New York New York Casino hostesses.

The Palazzo / Venitian hotel has a beatiful Venice Canal gondola section with a replica of Venice's famous canal system. Tons of fun if you have the time to hop aboard for an hour or so.

DJ Emir Mixtape fans were found all over Las Vegas, from Casino to Casino as we found many existing fans and  also created new fans out in Las Vegas. We had a few CDs left after the tour and handed the rest out at the airports which always makes us feel bad when we hear... "if someone you don't know tries to hand you something...." LOL

Coming back to freezing weather after a small stint down south was quite harsh, and during these cold months Denver's scene dies off a little on its snowy and ultra cold days, but I think we were all pretty much partied out and ready for a rest anyway... but so much for that plan, cause it's back to grinding away as usual.

See you all on the next leg of the tour if he invites us again, hope to catch you in your town soon. Vanessa V Blogger and Journalist Extraordinaire.

Transformers Mixtape Crowned Mixtape of The Year

Mixtape of The Year: And The winner is...
DJ Emir Transformers Mixtape

Our pick for Mixtape of the year was an easy landslide winner. DJ Emir's Transformers Mixtape simply blew past the mixtape competition. The sophistication, level of the mixing and overall production made this an instant mixtape classic and an instant office favorite. Many of us recieved the mixtape over 8 months ago and are still banging it in our rides to this day! That says a ton considering most of us listen to a mixtape only once or twice before getting bored and moving on.

The mixes on the Transformers Mixtape were very well thought out and put together with a mastery rarely found on other mixtapes. The mixtape game has been "transformed" back to it's roots, "the ultimate party in a box." You won't find fade outs, overt yellin or gunshots covering song fades, the only fades you'll find on The Transformers mixtape is DJ Emir cutting it up with the fader. Real mixing, surprising remixes, superior mix sets and a true mixtape theme that tie this mixtape together and transform it into an instant mixtape classic worthy of the title Mixtape of the Year

Guess we weren't the only Ones that were ultra impressed by DJ Emir's Transformers mixtape it was our pick for mixtape of the year as well and we made sure everyone we encountered in our travels and everyone we worked with, hung out with or partied with had a listen to our pick for mixtape of the year. Apparently others thought the same way and the Mixtape was also labelled mixtape of the year by Two other publications including VIP Nightclub Magazine and the Mixtape Review Board.

If you don't already have the Transformers Mixtape we highly recomend that you go get it as soon as possible. From what we heard the supplies for the mixtape were dwindling down to almost zero and they had to order another batch to meet the demand. So don't miss out on One of the hottest mixtapes in recent history. Get your copies today at www.DJEMIR.com

we would also recommend other mixtapes in the series including the StarWars Mixtape the Drunken Master Mixtape, and the Last Dragon Mixtape Also look for future releases at www.DJEMIR.com including the highly anticipated Ironman Mixtape which Emir assured us would be ready to ship by the time we wrote this review. We anxiously await to see if he can reproduce or top the Transformers mixtape in style and quality.

Hip Hop's Coming of Age

With it's huge popularity spike in the late 1990's and early 2000's Hip Hop now is the predominant sound heard coming out of almost every major nightclub in America. Unlike many past generations where there has been a huge jump musically, Hip Hop has spanned several generations of fans. For many new fans it may be hard to believe that Hip Hop is as old as their parents that it actually started over 30 years ago in the urban ghettos of The Bronx and Queens New York. Given that the MC appears to be at the core of Hip Hop as we now know it, it may be hard for this generation to understand that it was always the DJ that ultimately was the heart and soul of Hip Hop music and its resulting culture. But as Hip Hop continued to evolve over the past three decades it commercialized and greedy profiteers tried to seperate the elements of Hip Hop (Deejaying, Emceeing, Breaking & Art/Graphiti) deeming the MC as more important than the DJ when it came to selling "the product" and would seperate the two. But in the end it would be inevitable that Hip Hop would One day mature and want to be reunited with the creators it ran away from. Today we are witnessing Hip Hop's new coming of age.

While in many ways it may seem that the DJ has practically been removed from the equation, there is a huge movement taking Hip Hop back to it's roots. DJs are now remixing many classics and adding more classic Hip Hop and disco era tracks back into rotation. They are breathing new life back into the staggnating beats and limiting views that "Rap Music" was starting to create.

While Hip Hop once was centered around loops created from pre-existing Funk, Rock, Soul & Disco records it moved away from this practice and as a result partially lost it's soul. Beats became stagnant, and lyrics also took a dive for commercial gains. Newer generations lost touch with the music of the previous generations and many of the old fans were left to wonder what happened to their favorite artists leading to NAS' question "where are they now?"

There are a select few from these eras that still put out albums and singles that have the strength to go the distance. Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J, KRS One, Guru, Too Short, E-40 and a few others along with later generations like Nas, Jay-Z, and a handful of others. All others from those eras now exist only through their fans, their legacies and the Deejays that still have their records and still play them to thousands of new fans.

Hip Hop is still evolving, it once was all about the perfect party vibe or getting out an important message then branched out to its darker side with Gangster Rap, Hardcore and more violent lyrics. It now is again evolving, taking Techno and Electro head on by actually using and modifying Electro beats and sounds and incorporating it into the Hip Hop genre. The playing speed of hip hop has widened in range to now also include Electronic nightclub music speeds making it even more accesible and energetic for todays nightclub crowds.

So now we ask once again, "what of the original Hip Hop gurus, where are they now?" They're making a comeback from the unsung heroes that have been there for Hip Hop (and music in general) the whole time, the Deejays. Deejays are digging in their crates blending and mashing up the old with the new and the new with the newer, the Rock with Hip Hop and Techno. It is Hip Hop's coming of age, it has come full circle and now Hip Hop is being created again the way it was always intended, without the boundries we later labeled it with. Boundries like "Rap Music vs Techno vs Country vs Rock" the boundries have been erased and the music that is being re-created is purely amazing. Public Enemy gets remixed over a DJ Khaled beat, Eric B and Rakim classics remixed over newer Timbaland beats, LL Cool J over DJ Feli Fel Beats, Jay-Z over Hard Rock Hits you name it and someone has masterfully re-created it. DJ's like The Rockit-Scientists, DJ Sizzahandz, John Farrugio, DJ Emir, Victor Menegaux, DJ Z-Trip, DJ AM, The Klutch Beat Boutique and countless others.

While we as huge fans of Das EFX would personally love to see the boys back in the game, we will gladly listen to their classics and remixes of their classics again and again in the clubs, on the mixtapes and in mixshow sets across the globe, from the new breed of Deejays that are breathing new life back into the nightclub scenes and Hip Hop scenes of the world.

If you want to hear some hot classic cuts revisited there are several hot Deejays that we recommend you see live. DJ Z-Trip, DJ AM, DJ Emir, DJ Craze, DJ Riz and DJ A-Trak

Amongst those Deejays that create remix blends, mashups and mixtapes there are a few choice Deejay websites of note:

www.djztrip.com Z-Trip is one of the original mashup kings, and some consider him as one of the fathers of mashup mixes. He is an amazing DJ when seen live at the nightclubs.

www.djemir.com Home of one of the livest overall nightclub Deejays in the world. The site also features several hot mixtapes including personal favorites the Transformers mixtape , the Iron Man Mixtape and the Star Wars Mixtape

www.DJCraze.com home of the multi DMC world Championship title winning DJ. If you get a chance see him Live at the clubs, the boy is insane. Open your minds and listen, watch and observe a true DJ as he shows everyone the meaning of true skill and mastery of the turntables.

www.DJAM.com One of the worlds most sought after Deejays, AM is a Friday resident at Pure nightclub Las Vegas and also resident at LAX Sunday Nights. He travels the globe Deejaying the worlds top nightclubs and parties and really knows how to put down exciting DJ sets and performances.

Jay-Z & Beyonce: Look at All These Rumors Can't Take it No More

Representatives for Jay-Z have once again shot down reports that the superstar rapper/mogul has married his world famous girlfriend, singer/actress Beyonce Knowles.

"The reports are not true," a member of the rapper’s inner-circle

While the representative denied the claims, reports continue to come from other sources, who report that the pair were married during a secret ceremony at Giorgio Armani’s house in Paris, France.

The rumors state that the pair opted for matching tattoos on their ring fingers as opposed to traditional wedding bans.

The rumors were recently given credibility, when the superstar couple was spotted in public sporting matching "IV" [forever] tattoos on their ring fingers.

Sources also claim that Beyonce is pregnant with Jay-Z’s child. This is the third time the rumor has surfaced since October 2005.

In a recent report in The Mirror, a source close to Beyonce claims that she is indeed pregnant with Jay-Z‘s child.

"Beyonce is giving nothing away," the source claimed. "She's always been close to her parents and open about wanting a large family of her own one day."
